The inaugural Royal Tasmanian Whisky & Spirits Awards
The inaugural Royal Tasmanian Whisky & Spirits Awards have marked a significant new chapter for Tasmania’s spirits industry, bringing together producers from across the state for an international-standard competition developed by the Royal Agricultural Society of Tasmania in partnership with the Tasmanian Whisky & Spirits Association.
We’re incredibly proud to share that Winter Solstice 5 was awarded Gold in the Peated/Smoky Whisky category.
It was also a fantastic result across our range, with our Peated Release, Bourbon Cask and Cask Strength Tawny Cask each receiving Silver medals.
To have four whiskies recognised across three categories is a proud moment for our small team and wonderful recognition of the care, patience and craftsmanship that goes into every bottle we produce at Hangar 17.
The awards brought together some of the industry’s most respected names, with Tasmanian whisky pioneer Bill Lark AM serving as Patron and Whisky Magazine editor-at-large Christopher Coates leading the whisky judging.
We’re proud to be part of Tasmania’s whisky community and honoured to have our whiskies recognised alongside so many exceptional local producers.
